Mayfair Manor Residents Go Bowling
For our fourth “Staycation,” Mayfair residents and staff and Regional Quality of Life Director Ashley Graham went bowling at Collin’s Bowling! Congratulations to first-time bowler Ruby Banks, who was our high scorer! All residents received a prize. Pictured are residents Ruby Banks, Debbie Harris, Elizabeth Mays, and Dot Penley. Thanks to Ashley for organizing this Staycation!
Creating a Professional Team
In an effort to beat the rainy weather blues, our teams from Mayfair Manor, Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation Center, and Signature HealthCARE of Hillcrest decided to take to the bowling alley to create our own sunshine.
We have some pretty talented bowlers! Our winner from Mayfair Manor had never bowled a game in her life, but she now has a new hobby! Our winner from Hermitage bowled two strikes in her last frame, and our winner from Hillcrest was the strike and spare king the whole game! I think we may be well on our way to the professional leagues.
Everyone had a wonderful time munching on pizza, bowling, and being around each other. Plus, a little trash talking always adds excitement to the crowd.
Thanks to all who participated in these adventures. Look for us on the next PBA tour. We’ll be coming to your city soon!
– Ashley Graham, Regional Quality of Life Director

Christ the King Kindergartners Serenade Mayfair Manor Residents with Halloween Songs
Tracie Cupolo’s Kindergarten class from Christ the King stopped by Mayfair Manor to sing a few Halloween-themed songs on Friday. They looked wonderful in their Halloween costumes, and residents enjoyed every bit of the performance!
Mayfair Manor Hosts a Halloween Party!
Mayfair Manor’s residents enjoyed the annual Halloween Party and dressed as their favorite ghost, ghouls, and goblins. Several Stakeholders also dressed in costumes. Even Elvis and his entourage from the ’50’s showed up to celebrate! Featured performer was Pat Geary (aka Dolly Parton!). Resident and Stakeholders also played some carnival games and ate plenty of sweets!
Mayfair Manor Earns 4-Star Federal Rating
Our facility recently earned a 4-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
CMS is the federal agency tasked with nursing home oversight. A 5-star rating is the highest rating a center can receive.
Signature has continually worked to improve the quality of care provided in its buildings, which has translated to better CMS ratings.
Under the five-star rating system, nursing homes are assessed in three main categories: health inspections, quality measures and staffing. The overall rating combines scores received in each of the three categories.
Elaine Humphreys Cook’s Harp Studio Performs for Mayfair Manor Residents
Elaine Humphreys Cook and eight harp students performed for Mayfair Manor residents this month. Elaine is a harpist for the Lexington Philharmonic, and teaches at the University of Kentucky. She is also a harp and violin faculty member of LTEA. The Harp Ensemble played a variety of pieces from “The Hobbit” soundtrack to “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring.” The Dining Room was full of residents who enjoyed and loved the Sunday afternoon performance. Many thanks to Elaine and her students! Elaine will also play at Mayfair Manor’s Hall of Fame on Nov. 6, 2015.
